Paper mosaics is so much more than just paper and mosaics. The possibilities are endless with so many different types of paper and bases. Amy heard about paper mosaics years ago while teaching a mosaic workshop out-of-town but could not find anything online about how to create them. She had the desire but not the experience to start creating this new art form. She knew there were ways to create a quality piece of art but didn’t know how to get started. Searching the web yiedled nothing She didn’t know the key words. Then in 2023, she heard about a local class. She immediately signed up with a friend and started experimenting with this new type of art. After taking the class, she researched and started creating with family and friends. She held a workshop with friends to perfect her teaching. She learned a lot about this new art form:
- Types of paper – scrapbook paper, books, magazines
- Types of paper preparation – tearing and cutting
- Embellishing you art – adding bling and glitz
- Bases – wood, canvas, tile
- Adhesives – glue stick and Modge Podge
Join Amy for a paper mosaic class to master this art form. Each class is 3 hours and includes all supplies. You can bring in your own paper or embellishments if you’d like. The BBD Mosaic studio is wheelchair accessible, air-conditioned and family friendly with free on-site parking.
