*** 2025 JEWELRY PUBLIC WORKSHOPS: Contact Amy for class schedule.
Join Amy at one of her mosaic jewelry workshops where you will be able to create unique, one-of-a-kind mosaic jewelry with various styles and colors. Mosaic jewelry is the fine art of meticulous placement of tiny mosaic pieces (tesserae) into a bezel or pendant (base) to create images or patterns. The tesserae for jewelry can be anything from beads to stained glass to charms. Millefiori is the most popular tesserae for jewelry because it is Italian glass beads that are imported from Italy. Each piece of jewelry is a matchless piece of wearable art.
After more than a year of gathering and experimenting with various materials, Amy started creating mosaic jewelry with family and friends. Each piece was beautiful and distinctive. The more they created, the more Amy enjoyed helping others create mosaic jewelry. After more experimentation and videos, she started offering workshops to the public.
At her mosaic jewelry workshops, she offers two methods to create jewelry – Apoxie Sculpt (black or white) and overlapping.
OVERLAP METHOD: Guests fill the bezel with Tacky glue (which is remarkably strong) and press tesserae into the glue, overlapping the pieces so the back of the bezel doesn’t show, creating 3-D look. The goal is not to see the back of the bezel.
APOXIE SCULPT METHOD: Guests knead the two parts of Apoxie Sculpt and press it into the bezel. Then the tesserae is pressed into the Apoxie Sculpt clearing away the access.
